Description
The Cirque suspension lamp by Louis Poulsen was designed by Clara von Zweigbergk and draws its inspiration from the vibrant atmosphere of Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen. The design reflects the joyful interplay of colour, movement and light found in hot air balloons, carousels and illuminated fairground structures.
The distinctive bands of colour are inspired by the visual effect created by circular motion, where colours are often perceived as continuous stripes rather than individual tones. The softly domed form of the shade echoes the iconic onion-shaped domes found throughout Tivoli’s historic architecture, lending the lamp a sculptural yet playful character.
Cirque provides a soft, comfortable and completely glare-free light. The light is directed downwards through a white-lacquered internal reflector, ensuring excellent visual comfort while creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Available in multiple sizes, the Cirque pendant works beautifully both as a single statement piece or in grouped compositions above dining tables, counters or in public interiors.
Balancing graphic expression with refined functionality, Cirque is a contemporary pendant that brings colour, rhythm and personality into modern spaces.
